About

Community Development

Working together with local communities to increase their capacity to develop sustainable livelihood options that reduce poverty and conserve biodiversity.

We work with Maasai women groups with hand woven handicrafts, we connect them with our travelers who buy their products at a lucrative price. With the income earned from selling woven baskets, mats, and other artisanal pieces, these mothers gain financial independence for themselves and their children.

We work with community partners and cooperatives to host farm, cultural tours and farm activities and learning about domestic farm animals and horticulture. We broaden the education of the children residing at our interim housing centers by allocating international volunteer teachers to primary and secondary schools in our areas of operation.
