However, for true wildlife enthusiasts, an 8-10 day trip is recommended to thoroughly explore the northern national parks of Tanzania. If time permits, extending the journey to the southern and western parks will enrich your experience even further.

Some tour operators offer expansive 20+ day overland safaris spanning multiple East African countries. Those often entail spending nights in canvas tents.
