AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK
Akagera National Park is a stunning conservation area located in eastern Rwanda along the border with Tanzania. Covering an area of 1,140 square kilometers, the park is named after the picturesque Akagera River that flows through it. Established in 1934, Akagera is one of the oldest national parks in Africa and is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, and hippos. The park also boasts over 480 species of birds, making it a paradise for birdwatchers.
